QUADRO AUCTION #58
10–12.07.2026
About the exhibition
The Quadro Auction #58 will take place exclusively online, from July 10th to 12th, 2026 on the gallery's website: www.licitatie.galeriaquadro.ro.
The Quadro Auction #58 features 160 works of painting, printmaking, sculpture, and decorative art, with starting prices ranging from 30 to 4,600 EUR.
The auction is dominated by works of graphic art, which are remarkably diverse and span a wide range of periods. Thus, from red-pen drawings from Transylvania’s Habsburg era to works by contemporary artists, we encounter a wide variety of styles and genres.
From the long list of authors, we would like to mention the following: Aba Novák Vilmos, Hrandt Avakian, Baász Imre, Ioan Bunuș, Gy. Szabó Béla, Heim András, Hans Hermann, Körösfői-Kriesch Aladár, Tia Peltz, Pongrácz Antónia, Ion Popescu Gopo, Rusz Lívia, Ion Stendl, Szatmári Gáti Sándor, and Thorma János.
The selection of paintings, although small in number and with relatively low starting prices, features some very interesting pieces.
The cover of the auction catalog is an early work by Tasso Marchini, created during a summer practice in Curtea de Argeș in 1929.
Art from Transylvania in the first half of the 20th century is represented by important works such as In Front of the Mirror, circa 1912, by Tibor Ernő, Still Life in Landscape by Mund Hugó, Canalul morii [Mill Canal], Baia Mare by Dimitrie Cabadaiev, a sweeping panorama of the city of Baia Mare by Börtsök Samu, and Still Life with Lilies, 1943, by Hans Eder.
The art of the second half of the 20th century is represented by important works by Fülöp Antal Andor, Fuhrmann Károly, Györkös Mányi Albert, Incze János Dés, Jakab Ilona, Jecza Péter, Korondi Jenő, Egon Marc Lövith, Mohy Sándor, Maria Margareta Nemeș, Ion Pacea, and Páll Lajos.
