“Nagy Albert. Drawings” Opening: 14th of June, Monday, 18.00 hours, Quadro Gallery The exhibition is open: June 14 – July 30, 2010 Monday – Friday, 11.00-18.00 hours, Napoca street 2-4, 1st floor, door 64. “Nagy Albert. Drawings” is the first exhibition of sketches by the exceptional painter, Nagy Albert (1902-1970), part of a series of exhibitions organised by Quadro Gallery to present landmarks of Transylvanian art. The exhibition will be opened by ms. Boros Judit, art historian at the National Gallery of Hungary.
The art historian Sümegi György will also present the book “Painters from Cluj”, published by Takács Galley, Hungary. The exhibition comprises almost 50 unpublished sketches along with 8 paintings, including the last, unfinished painting by the artist. “Nagy Albert. Sketches” is an exhibition which presents an artist whose sketches express human existence in simple, economical lines. The partners of this event are: the Unitarian Church of Transylvania, Cluj; the Székely National Museum, Sfântu Gheorghe; “Korunk” magazine; the Communitas Foundation, the National Cultural Fund of Hungary as well as several private collectors.
